The capital of the Argentine Republic is Buenos Aires. As one of the largest cities in Latin America, there is much to see and do. It is also a good point from which to travel to the rest of the country. Flights to Buenos Aires use the Ministro Pistarini International Airport. It is often called Ezeiza Airport because it is located in the city of Ezeiza, which is about a 40-minute drive from downtown.
Buenos Aires is sometimes called the Paris of South America because of the influence that the European culture has had on it. It has an opera house (Teatro Colon), and symphony orchestras and there are several museums. It also has the Buenos Aires Zoo, which is a wonderful, world famous zoo with more than 2,500 different species on display. There is also the Buenos Aires Botanical Garden, which is now a national monument. It has approximately 5,500 species of shrubs, trees, and other plants. It also has a lot of sculptures and monuments.
