Friday 03 Oct 2008 10:20am

US carrier American Airlines has announced the launch of its PriorityAAccess scheme, which will offer new privileges to its premium customers. Customers including AAdvantage elite status members, business and first class travellers will be offered a selection of enhancements intended to make their period of travel easier. The PriorityAAccess scheme will include priority exclusive boarding areas at gates, check-in services and dedicated security screening lanes at airports including New York JFK and Los Angeles International. American Airlines' managing director of customer experience Mark Mitchell said: 'American Airlines greatly appreciates the loyalty of our customers and we have been working hard to deliver the product features and recognition we know they value and deserve. 'PriorityAAccess benefits provide a differentiated experience for our top customers at the ticket counter, at security checkpoints and at the gate. ' PriorityAAccess will begin operating on September 30th, although it is not expected to be fully implemented until the end of October. The Texas-based airline serves 250 cities in 40 countries and operates more than 4,000 daily flights and claims to be the world's largest carrier.
