Ryanair flights to America

Europe's biggest cheap flight airline today announced plans to fly from Europe to the USA for only £7 (about $12 dollars). Michael O'Leary, Chief Executive of Ryanair has said he wants the transatlantic service up and running within three years, and having a fleet of 50 long-haul planes. The venture would also be setup separately from the existing Ryanair airline. Ryanair currently carry close to 70 million people a year between airports in Europe and having an extra 50 aircraft providing flights to New York or Baltimore would be a relatively easy addition to their network. Depsite low prices of only £7/$12 one-way, Ryanair still think they can make the flights to america profitable. For those who aren't familiar with Ryanair, they work on the basis of cheap ticket prices, but everything else is additional cost. If you want to check-in at the airport, rather than over the internet there is a cost. If you want to have luggage in the hold, there is additional cost. If you want a drink or food on board, there is nothing free, so you'll need to pay extra. These little extra things soon mount up, and a family of 4 travelling could end up paying £40 for tickets, and then £200-£300 in extras which would normally be included as standard on traditional airlines. At flyingabroad. co. uk, we think that Ryanair will find it difficult to offer flights at £7/$12 one-way to the US - and nearer the time when the flights do start, the prices will be much higher. The recent high price of oil has resulted in several European airlines going bankrupt and high oil prices = high fuel prices and airlines can only absorb so much cost before having to pass it on to customers.
