Irish airline Ryanair has celebrated the opening of its 26th base, at Reus Airport in Spain. This is in addition to the launch of new domestic routes to link Reus with Santander, Seville, Santiago de Compostela and Palma de Mallorca (all starting on 19th December), and a new international route to Paris Beauvais Airport. Ryanair's five new routes from the Spanish airport will carry an estimated 600,000 passengers each year. Four of the new routes from Reus will operate daily services, while the new Seville service will operate twice daily. Eddie Wilson, a spokesman from Ryanair, said: 'Today is a very special day for Ryanair in Spain, as the opening of our new Reus base and our new routes significantly increase the capacity and routes offered by Ryanair at Reus. The demand for seats on these new routes has been remarkable and we are confident that these routes will continue to deliver high spending tourists to Reus. 'Ryanair's guaranteed lowest fares and no fuel surcharge will continue to grow passenger numbers in Spain as passengers save millions each year by choosing Ryanair over the high fares and fuel surcharges of Iberia. From today Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Paris and Palma de Mallorca will seem a little closer to Reus thanks to our daily flights and our commitment to deliver the lowest fares and no fuel surcharge on our Spanish domestic and international routes.
