Shortly after take-off today, a Flybe plane flying from Birmingham International Airport to Stuttgart in Germany made an emergency landing after unpleasant odours and high temperatures occurred inside. Oxygen masks did fall from the roof which passengers could use for breathing. All 24 passengers were taken off the flight when it landed back at Birmingham and none were hurt. A flybe spokesman apologised to all passengers following the event and said: [Quote] "The Flybe flight BE7125 from Birmingham to Stuttgart returned from airborne after an unpleasant odour and high temperatures were reported in the cabin. The aircraft landed without incident in Birmingham at 1. 35pm on Tuesday afternoon and all 24 passengers disembarked without incident. Passengers were then transferred on to the BE7127 which departed Birmingham for Stuttgart at 5pm that evening. The safety of our passengers is of the utmost importance to Flybe and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to their journey this afternoon. " Planes rarely need to make emergency landings and the judgement of the pilot to return and make an emergency landing was made on the site of caution.
