London City Airport's network of European services will be extended when VLM Airlines launches new flights to Nantes later this month. According to VLM, Western France will be brought 'closer to the heart of London' when the new flights begin operations on April 27th. There will be two daily flights on weekdays and one flight per day at the weekend. Economy customers will be offered complimentary meals and coffee, tea and a choice of alcoholic drinks, while Business class passengers will also enjoy additional benefits, including increased baggage allowance and newspapers. Managing director of VLM Airlines' London City network, Johan Vanneste, said: 'Our award-winning service is well known by travellers using London City Airport and we're pleased to be offering them greater choice with the start of this new route. ' In other news, 74 per cent of flights departed on time from London City Airport between October and December 2008, a 16 per cent improvement on 2007, according to statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority.
