Stansted Airport has claimed that it expected nearly a quarter of a million travellers to catch flights from the airport during the Easter weekend. A spokesman from the airport suggested that it offers plenty of inspiration for those wanting to take a weekend break, with more than 150 destinations in 35 countries, including France, Spain, Croatia and Malaysia. Stansted Airport's commercial and development director, Nick Barton, claimed that travellers who are yet to make travel plans for the Easter period can still find late deals. 'We may be in times of economic difficulty, but with nearly a quarter of a million people already booked to travel through Stansted this Easter weekend, there can be no doubt that people still want to take time to get away,' he added. 'We're set for a busy weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone travelling through Stansted. ' Liverpool Airport and Exeter Airport have also recently claimed that they anticipate a substantial increase in passenger traffic over Easter.
