Ryanair wants passengers to STAND on flights

In a bid to get more people into each flight, Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary is hoping to fit bar-stool type chairs into planes or for people to stand up to try and cram more people on board. The more people on a flight, the more profit an airline can make so having standing room means they could cram up to 50% more people onto a plane and slash costs at the same time. Ryanair are supposedly in talks with Boeing to see if a plane can be designed for people to stand up. From a safety perspective, being in a seat and buckled in is by far the better option to provide protection from turbulence or even rough take-offs and landings. Whether this is just publicity, or an actual plan is hard to know. A recent 'plans' included charging people £1 to to use the toilet on flights with a swipe facility for passengers to use their credit card to pay. The airline also proposed only having one toilet per plane (maximum capacity of 140-150 passengers), in order to fit six extra seats onto each plane. What would happen if that toilet breaks down? Ryanair also proposeda fat-tax - a premium for overweight passengers wanting to fly.
