Liverpool International Airport has launched three new flight routes this week, providing more options for passengers using the airport. easyJet will now offer flights to Naples in Italy, Bordeaux in France and Dubrovnik on the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. Deputy chief executive of the 76 year old Liverpool International airport, Neil Pakey, said the new routes would give passengers more choice this summer. 'easyJet has been crucial to the success of Liverpool Airport over the last 12 years and will continue to be so in the future,' he commented. The cut-price airline now offers flights to 21 destinations out of the Liverpool hub. Carly Brear, the commercial manager of easyJet, said Liverpool was the carrier's biggest base outside London. easyJet have now also increased their fleet of planes at John Lennon Airport to nine with the arrival of a new plane to help cope with the extra flights to the new destinations. The flight to Dubrovnik will be the first time easyJet have flown to Croatia out of Liverpool airport. The Croatian resort has become a popular holiday location recently as holidaymakers look to avoid ‘eurozone' countries because of the unfavourable exchange rate.
