American Airlines introduces Boeing 757 on international flights

American Airlines has announced that it will begin operating Boeing 757 aircraft on international routes as part of a reconfiguration of part of its fleet. The American carrier is currently remodelling 18 of its 124 757s. The first of the remodelled 757s operated a flight to Brussels from New York on May 7. The fleet update will equip the planes with new seats, cabin interiors, in-flight entertainment systems as well as a number of other features. Business cabin passengers will enjoy lie-flat seats, larger workspaces and new in-seat entertainment options. American Airlines' vice-president of onboard service, Lauri Curtis, said: 'American Airlines' fleet of Boeing 757 international aircraft will be well-suited to serve select international routes following the refurbishment initiative. ' The reconfigured planes will operate transatlantic and Latin American routes, including flights from Miami to Salvador and from Boston to Paris. UK travellers can fly with American Airlines from Manchester Airport to Chicago and from Heathrow Airport to New York and Los Angeles.
