Its the third most popular airport in the UK with almost 24 million passengers using the hub each year. The airport has announced plans to boost the public transport facilities to and from the airport to provide passengers with a wide variety of options. The first is a new coach service which will run from nearby Ipswich town centre every two hours from May 1st and will be the only direct link of public transport between the busy city and busy airport. Stansted has the highest level of public transport usage in the country with over 40% of passengers using this mode of transport to get to, or from the airport.
