Business Class only airline Silverjet that operates flights from London Luton to New York and London Luton and Dubai, celebrated its first birthday at the end of January 2008. The airline operates two flights to New York each day, and is the first airline to offer a private terminal at both ends of the flight between London Luton and Dubai airports. In January 2008, the airline carried over 60,000 passengers compared to just 8,000 in its first month a year ago. Load factor stood at 58% in january 2008 - meaning that only 58% of seats were sold on average on each flights. The airline has won numerous awards in its first year, including "Best Airline" award from The Sunday Times. The airline takes delivery of two new aircraft in March 2008 which are extended range planes capable to flying over 6,000 miles - making destinations such as Delhi, Los Angeles and Shanghai within reach.
