An overwhelming demand for Monarch's London Luton to Larnaca, Cyprus service has persuaded the airline to start a new Manchester to Larnaca service for Summer 2008. Starting on 18th May 2008, the three times a week service from Manchester to Cyprus is already seeing above expected bookings. Liz Savage, MD of Monarch said [quote] "are delighted to be expanding our network to the Eastern Mediterranean with the launch of this service from Manchester, a market that has historically been dominated by the flag carriers and charter services" The Luton to Cyprus service which started in March has already carried over 50,000 passengers in 9 months to the popular Cyrpus sun.
