No-frills airline Flybe has described the first year of its generous Rewards4all frequent flier scheme as a resounding success. Over two million reward points were awarded, more than 6,000 free flights were redeemed and in excess of 2,000 Premier Cards have already been issued for one year's membership to Flybe's executive lounges. Flybe's particular successes have come with business passengers. With 13 executive UK lounges (more than any other domestic airline) this is hardly a surprise. The airline's Rewards4all programme is still the most generous domestic frequent flier programme in the UK and was also the UK's first low cost airline scheme open to all passengers. Rewards4all offers its members an automated, easy to use programme that allows you to take charge of your rewards through your online customer account. The successful Rewards4all scheme is just the latest addition to Flybe's raft of services for business passengers. Online check-in, executive lounge access, ticket flexibility and airport fast track are the airline's other business services. The key difference between Rewards4all and the frequent flier schemes of other airlines is that points are awarded even on a £21. 99 ticket, rather than being reserved only for the most expensive air fares. There are also no restrictions on the method of booking; passengers can earn points whether they book online, by telephone, or via travel agent. The sole requirement is that customers create an account on the Flybe website and manage their flight redemptions online once they have accrued enough points. Flybe's Chief Commercial Officer Mike Rutter commented: 'The uptake on Rewards4all has surpassed even our expectations. In these tough economic times, people are looking for the very best deals available. Our affordable fares, coupled with the ability to immediately start earning valuable frequent flier points no matter what the price of the ticket, is obviously proving just the ticket! 'Flybe currently carries the highest percentage of business travellers in the low cost sector and Rewards4all is helping develop and maintain those relationships. There is now no reason to fly legacy. The scheme is also a big attraction for those second home owners, city breakers and families who, needing to make regular trips to visit friends and family, are at the heart of our customer profile' Mr Rutter added.
