In a survey by Barclaycard Business, British Airways came out as the airline that business travellers use the most with 28% of travellers BA. In comparison, bmi and Virgin Atlantic had 6% and 3% respectively. Business travel is still a growing area of revenue for airlines with more people more than willing to jump on a plane and travel a few hours to a meeting in another country. Only 10% of business class travellers used business class in 2007 compared to almost 40% in 2001 - signalling a trend of businesses cutting costs by making their staff travel in economy class. Denise Leleux from Barclaycard Business said "Travelling on business to expand into new markets or win new business has always been an indicator of economic confidence. This year's results show that confidence is still there and that business people are still positive about economic and business growth". Many airlines are revamping their lounges and trying to target business and first class passengers with more luxurious comfort on their flights.
