London Gatwick Airport in UK

Situated south of the M25 and just over 30 miles from London, Gatwick Airport has grown to become the second busiest airport in the UK. It has a North and a South terminal dealing with different airlines and destinations. There is a monorail with regular service linking the two terminals - ideal if you park in the wrong terminal as this writer has once before. The journey is free and only takes a couple of minutes. Getting to the airport is normally easy, although if you have to travel around the M25 to get to Gatwick, please give yourself plenty of time in case of traffic jams. Car parking is extensive with lots of onsite parking and several companies providing cheaper off-site airport parking - within a 10-20 minute radius. The facilities at the airport (and both terminals) are excellent and what you've expect from a large and modern airport. However, possibly due to the huge number of passengers using the airport each year, parts of the inside of the terminals do look a bit tired. Exchange bureaus, book shops, newsagent, duty free and a wide range of other shops are available for you to browse through while waiting to board.
