Copenhagen is a very special city. It is a city which seems very adult, grown up and yet at the same time, the people know how to laugh and play like children. A very special place and a very special welcome awaits you, because Copenhagen is famous for its hospitality and warmth. Due to being so far north, it is not the warmest destination, but in the summer time the temperatures can easily top 20 celsius and the days are very long, due to it being quite northern. The winters are cold, but Christmas time can be very special in Copenhagen, with lots of markets and special Christmas celebrations. There is a lot to do and see in Copenhagen. The Little Mermaid is something of an institution and is a very beautiful sculpture with lots of romantic history and folklore attached!
There are also the delights of Tivoli Gardens. These are not really gardens, more like an amusement park, but this being Copenhagen, they are just that little bit different and here you will find not just rollercoasters, but also theatres, gourmet restaurants and some fantastic bars as well. Other sights and attractions include the Opera House and the Royal Palaces (there are four in total). The four palaces all face onto a square and they are extremely imposing and regal buildings and well worth a look. Shopping is also very good in Copenhagen, with prices not incredibly low but with quality items on sale. You should also make time to spend on the beach. The local S train will take you to Amager beach, which is quite close and it is interesting to experience the very clear and clean water and the terrific white sands. Nightlife in Copenhagen is quite varied, with some great bars, restaurants and theatres, nightclubs etc. Much of the local cuisine is quite seafood orientated, so if you don't like fish, you may have to pick and choose between restaurants. Beer and alcohol may also be much more expensive than you are used to, so you will probably find that having a couple of beers instead of a couple of beers too many, becomes the order of the day. On the other hand, waking up ready to enjoy all the sights of this wonderful city is great! The Opera House is a very recent addition to the City and it is a very impressive building and well worth a visit, since it is so spectacular. Copenhagen is also very child friendly, so the children will also adore this city, particularly the zoo, or the Aquarium. They will also appreciate the warm Danish welcome they will receive! English is widely spoken in Copenhagen and being Danish, they have a very efficient and environmentally friendly transport system, so getting around is also quite easy. It is also quite good value for money, given that this is quite an expensive city. So for a real breath of fresh, fresh air and clear blue skies, with all the facilities of a very modern and vibrant capital city, head on over to Copenhagen.
